Welcome and Agreement

By engaging Uncle Jay Cat Sits, you agree to the terms outlined below. These terms are intended to support the safety, comfort, and well-being of your cat(s), your home, and the cat sitter.

Understanding of Risk

I acknowledge that pet care involves inherent risks, including but not limited to the following:

• Escape of my cat(s)
• Injury, illness, or death due to unforeseen causes
• Damage to property while pets are unsupervised

I understand that additional risks may exist that are unknown or not reasonably foreseeable at this time.

Pet Care and Professional Judgment

I understand that visit times may vary slightly based on scheduling demands and the needs of all pets in Uncle Jay Cat Sits’ care.

I authorize Uncle Jay Cat Sits to exercise professional judgment while caring for my cat(s), including arranging a trusted backup sitter when required.

I release Uncle Jay Cat Sits from liability for decisions made in good faith and in the best interest of my cat(s).

Pet Behavior and Unpredictability

I acknowledge that cats exhibit individual and unpredictable behavior. Uncle Jay Cat Sits is not responsible for the following:

• Refusal of medication or adverse reactions
• Biting, scratching, or aggressive behavior
• Escape attempts or successful escapes
• Damage to household items or personal injury caused by my cat(s) when unsupervised

Outdoor Access

If outdoor access is permitted, I understand that reasonable efforts will be made to encourage my cat(s) to return indoors. Return is not guaranteed. Food, water, and litter will be provided outdoors unless otherwise directed in writing.

Emergencies and Financial Responsibility

In the event of an emergency, including natural disasters, illness, or extreme weather, I authorize Uncle Jay Cat Sits to act in the best interest of my cat(s).

I accept full responsibility for:

• Injury or damage caused by my pet(s)
• Property damage occurring when services are not actively being performed

I agree to cover all veterinary expenses deemed necessary by Uncle Jay Cat Sits, whether routine or emergency. If veterinary costs are charged to a business credit card on my behalf, I agree to reimburse 100 percent of those expenses promptly.

I release Uncle Jay Cat Sits and all associated staff from liability related to injury, illness, escape, or property damage caused by my pet(s).

Home Access and Privacy

I am responsible for maintaining a safe environment for pet care services.

I agree to disclose the presence of any video or audio recording devices within my home. Recording devices will not be used in bathrooms during pet care visits.

I agree to provide two working keys to Uncle Jay Cat Sits. If keys are not kept on file, a $27.50 fee applies for key pickup and return.

All keys are stored securely, with one assigned to the sitter and one retained in the office.

Right to Refuse or Terminate Service

Uncle Jay Cat Sits reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service if a pet presents a safety concern.

If service is discontinued during an active booking, I agree that my pet(s) may be transported to a licensed kennel or boarding facility at my expense.

Services Included Per Visit

Each visit includes the following services:

• Feeding
• Litter box maintenance
• Mail collection
• Watering of indoor plants
• Home security check
• Personalized visit updates with photos

Rates and Fees

A 10.25 percent sales tax is added to all invoices. Weekend visits are subject to an additional fee of $2.00 per visit.

• $29.00 for a 20-minute visit
• $36.00 for a 30-minute visit
• $46.00 for a 40-minute visit
• $66.00 for a 60-minute visit
• $76.00 for medical care visits lasting 30 to 90 minutes, based on temperament and care needs

A holiday surcharge of $15.00 per visit applies on designated holidays.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

Full payment is due one day prior to the first scheduled visit.

General cancellations require at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid fees. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice are billed at 50 percent of the total invoice.

Holiday cancellations for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s require at least seven days’ notice. Cancellations outside this window are billed at the full invoice amount.

No refunds, credits, or rescheduling are provided for unused visits due to trip changes or early returns.

Medical and Behavioral Disclosure

I confirm that I have disclosed all known medical conditions, medications, and behavioral history.

I confirm that my cat(s) are current on vaccinations and have not exhibited signs of contagious illness within the past 30 days.
