✨ Understanding the Risks

I understand that pet care involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Escape of my cat(s)

  • Injury, illness, or death due to unforeseen causes

  • Damage to property when pets are unsupervised

I acknowledge that additional risks may exist that are currently unknown or not reasonably foreseeable.

🐱 Pet Care & Responsibilities

  • I understand visit times may vary slightly depending on the needs of all pets in Uncle Jay Cat Sits' care.

  • I authorize Uncle Jay Cat Sits will use their best judgment while caring for my pet(s), including arranging a trusted backup sitter if necessary.

  • I release Uncle Jay Cat Sits from liability for decisions made in good faith and in the best interest of my cat(s).

🌿 Unpredictability & Outdoor Access

Cats are wonderfully unique—and often unpredictable. I understand that Uncle Jay Cat Sits cannot be held responsible for:

  • Refusal of medication or adverse reactions

  • Biting, scratching, or other aggressive behavior

  • Escape attempts or successful escapes

  • Damage to household items or personal injury caused by my cat(s) when unsupervised

If I allow outdoor access, I understand Uncle Jay Cat Sits will make reasonable efforts to encourage my cat(s) to return, but cannot guarantee their return. Food, water, and litter will be provided outdoors unless I specify otherwise.

🚨 Emergencies & Liability

In the case of emergencies—such as natural disasters, illness, or extreme weather—I trust Uncle Jay Cat Sits to act in the best interest of my cat(s).

I accept full responsibility for:

  • Any damage or injury caused by my pet(s) during or outside scheduled visits

  • Property damage when Uncle Jay Cat Sits is not on the premises

I agree to cover all medical expenses if Uncle Jay Cat Sits determines that my cat(s) need veterinary care—whether for a routine issue or an emergency. If Uncle Jay Cat Sits uses a business credit card to cover any veterinary costs on my behalf, I agree to reimburse 100% of those expenses promptly.

I release Uncle Jay Cat Sits and all associated staff from liability related to injury, illness, escape, or property damage caused by my pet(s).

🏠 Home Access & Privacy

  • I am responsible for ensuring that my property is safe for pet care services

  • I will notify you if any video or audio recording devices are present in your home, and I agree that none will be used in bathrooms while I am

    providing care for your cat(s).

  • I agree to provide two working keys to Uncle Jay Cat Sits. If keys are not kept on file, a $27.50 fee will apply for pick-up and return.

  • All keys are securely stored—one assigned to your sitter, and one kept safely in the office.

🚫 Right to Refuse or Terminate Service

Uncle Jay Cat Sits reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services if a pet poses a risk to itself, the sitter, or others.

If this occurs during a scheduled service, I agree my pet(s) may be taken to a licensed kennel or boarding facility at my expense.

💸 Fees & Cancellation Policy

Each visit includes:
✔️ Feeding
✔️ Litter box maintenance
✔️ Mail collection
✔️ Watering indoor plants
✔️ Home security check
✔️ Personalized updates with photos

💲 Rates

A 10.25% sales tax will be added to your final invoice.

  • $28 – 20-minute visit

  • $35 – 30-minute visit

  • $45 – 40-minute visit

  • $65 – 1-hour visit

  • $75 – Medical care visit (30–90 minutes, based on your pet’s temperament and needs)

Holiday Surcharge: +$12 per visit on:
New Year’s Eve/Day, MLK Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day Weekend, Cesar Chavez Day, Memorial Day Weekend, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day Weekend, Indigenous Peoples' Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving (Thurs–Sat), and Christmas Eve/Day.

💳 Payment & Cancellations

  • Full payment is due the day before your first scheduled visit.

  • General Cancellations: 48+ hours’ notice required to avoid fees.

    • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged 50% of the total invoice.

  • Holiday Cancellations (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s):

    • Require at least 7 days’ notice.

    • Cancellations after this window will be charged the full invoice amount.

🛑 No refunds, credits, or rescheduling will be offered for unused visits due to trip changes or early returns.

🩺 Medical & Behavioral Disclosure

I confirm that I’ve disclosed:

  • All known medical conditions, medications, and behavioral history

  • That my cat(s) are up to date on vaccines and have not shown signs of contagious illness (e.g., rabies or distemper) in the past 30 days
